Professor Maria Bebianno is a full professor at the University of Algarve with great experience in marine contamination and ecotoxicology. Jose Croca Favinha
José António Croca Favinha was Director of the Navy Museum from February 2020 to September 2023, where he led the renovation of the permanent exhibition, the assembly of several temporary and traveling exhibitions, and integrated the museum into the Portuguese Museum Network. Between October 2018 and December 2019, he held the positions of Commander of the Azores Maritime Zone, Head of the Maritime Department and Regional Commander of the Azores Maritime Police, leading the joint force deployed to assist the island of Flores after the devastation of Hurricane Lorenzo . From 2016 to 2018, he was with NATO as Director of Plans at Maritime Command in London.
Between 2012 and 2014, he commanded the Portuguese Naval Force, and in 2010 took over the direction of the Integrated Center for Naval Tactics and Assessment, focused on training and assessment of ships. From 2007 to 2010, he served at NATO Transformation Command in Norfolk, USA. Before that, he was Head of the Operations Division of the Naval Command and the Lisbon Search and Rescue Center between 2005 and 2007, in addition to holding command and leadership positions on board Navy ships. His career began in 1986, after graduating in Naval Military Sciences and specializing in Communications and Electronic Warfare.
